The Sydney River McDonald's Murders on This Day in History

This Day in History:  The Sydney River McDonald's murders occurred on this day (May 7) in 1992, at the McDonald's restaurant in Sydney River, Nova Scotia, Canada. They were committed by a trio of friends who only intended to rob the restaurant, but ended up murdering three people and permanently disabling a fourth. It was one of the highest-profile murder cases in Canada at the time, and it was the first "fast-food murder" in Canada.

The worst fast food murders in the US happened in the San Ysidro neighborhood of San Diego, California, on July 18, 1984...also at a McDonald's. The perpetrator, 41-year-old James Huberty, fatally shot 21 people and wounded 19 others before being killed by a police sniper approximately 77 minutes after he had first opened fire.

According to the report done by "Fastfoodjusticeahora.com," there were over 77,000 violent or threatening incidents at fast food restaurants from 2017 to 2020...and that's just in California.
