Introducing a new blog dedicated to the New World Translation Bible, a Bible version that is unfairly criticized. Simply visit https://newworldtranslation.blogspot.com/ and right now it features the following articles:
John denies the Absolute Deity of the Word, by John Relly Beard D.D. 1857
The writer makes a marked distinction between God as it stands here, and God as it stands immediately before. The difference consists in this, that in the latter case, theos has the article; in the former case it is without the article.
"Once for all Time" and Hebrews 9 in the New World Translation
The words 'for all time' are not in the Greek text, as their own interlinear shows (p. 988). Dr. Mantey observes, 'No honest scholar would attempt to so pervert the word of God." DEBUNKED!
Philippians 2:9-11 and the Words OTHER and ALONE
So as representatives of God, angels were allowed to use his name, and to act as God. You will find other examples of angels in similar situations at Gen 16:13, 21:17; 22:15,16; 31:11, 13, Jg 6:12, 13, 14, 20, 21, 22, 23; 13:6, 21, and Deut 5:24.
The Holy Spirit-Active Force or the 3rd Person of the Trinity?
Did you notice how the "ministry of the Spirit" is viewed in the same vein as the impersonal "ministry of death." The "ministry of death" is the law of Moses, and the "ministry of the Spirit" is "Paul descriptive term for the New Covenant." MacArthur Study Bible/NKJV
Angels as Gods, by the Rev. Thomas Timson 1845
But it will naturally be asked by many, Why are angels called “gods,” or elohim, in the Scriptures? To which it may be replied, that it appears to be on account of their power and authority, as the delegated administrators of the Divine government, in many particulars, in different parts of the world; as magistrates are appointed under kings, to execute justice in assigned districts of various kingdoms.
The Doubtful Authenticity of the Triadic Formula at Matthew 28
Hastings Encyclopedia of Religion and Ethics
"The cumulative evidence of these three lines of criticism (Textual Criticism, Literary Criticism and Historical Criticism) is thus distinctly against the view that Matt. 28:19 (in the traditional
form) represents the exact words of Christ." - Article: Baptism; Early Christian.

Is the Personified Wisdom (Jesus) Eternal?
In a note on the Hellenistic Synagogal Prayers, Edited by James H. Charlesworth, he states,
"Special attention is given to Wisdom (sophia). Wisdom is personified and represented as the instrument of creation (3:19; 4:7, 38; 12:36). Wisdom is not eternal, however, since God is her father (4:38) and creator (5:3)."
The Firstborn of All Creation and the hOTI Clause
I maintain that Colossians 1:15 is a partitive genitive which makes Christ the "firstborn" of creation a part of that creation. However, Helyer in "Arius Revisited," JETS Mar. 1998, states that this option is excluded by virtue of the hoti clause of v. 16 and the pro panta of v. 17, which he thinks excludes Christ from the realm of created things.
Justin Martyr on the Logos and the Trinity Doctrine By Alvan Lamson 1865
Justin quotes from the Septuagint version the passage in Proverbs, in which Wisdom, by which he supposes is meant the Son, is represented as saying, "The Lord created me the beginning of his ways to his works: before the ages he founded me; in the beginning, before he made the earth or the abyss, before the hills, he begat me."
Young Woman or Virgin? - Almah at Isaiah 7:14
The word ALMAH is never used in the Bible where it necessarily means anything other than virgin. The word occurs seven times in the Hebrew Bible
Poe and the Bible By C Alphonso Smith 1920
In spite of the vast amount of literature that has grown up at home and abroad about the name of Edgar Allan Poe, there has never been published a treatment of his attitude to religion and religious problems.

Does Jesus Claim Equality with God?
I am always surprised that Trinitarians use this to prop up support for your triune deity. Heb. 1:8 is earlier applied to King Solomon in Ps 45:6. What that means is that Jesus is God insofar as as King Solomon is. I do not remember King Solomon sharing a triune nature/essence/homoousian with anyone.
Does the Hebrew Use of the Plural Prove the Trinity Doctrine?
The other argument to which I refer is of a similar sort, it is founded upon the words, Gen. 1. 26, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness," which we also regard as an idiomatic mode of expression, commonly called the plural of excellence or of dignity. We can give instances in Sacred Scripture of its use by earthly kings, by Jesus Christ, by the Apostle Paul, and by many others.

Prayers and Worship Directed to Jesus DEBUNKED
What does PROSKUNEO mean? According to W.E. Vine's Expository Dictionary PROSKUNEO means "to make obeisance, do reverence to...It is used of an act of homage or reverence to God(John 4:24)...to Christ(Matt 2:2)...to a man(Matt 18:26)...to the Dragon(Re. 13:4)...to the Beast(Rev 13:8)...the image of the Beast(Rev 14:11)...to demons(Rev 9:20)...to idols(Acts 7:43)." In the LXX PROSKUNEO was administered to Jehovah and to the King at the same time at 1 Chron 29:20.
An angel even received worship(NKJV,ASV) at Joshua 5:13-15 c.f.Ex. 23:23.

The Platonism of the Early Fathers By Alvan Lamson 1865
The great points of resemblance between the views of the Platonists and those of the Christian Fathers, and of Justin in particular, on the subject of the Logos, Son, or- second God, may be stated in few words. Plato had spoken of God, and his reason or logos, embracing the patterns or archetypes of things afterwards formed.
The Temporal Jesus (LOGOS)
Murray Harris says that "the Word was a god" is grammatically possible, and W.E. Vine calls it the most literal rendering of the phrase, but both, like you, say it shouldn't be translated that way because it contradicts monotheism. Let us take a further look at this.
Is Christ Equal to God in Ephesian 2? By Winthrop Bailey
"A vigorous debate still continues around the hymnic passage. However, the suggestion that the hymn has been constructed with a strong allusion to Adam, or even modeled after the template of Adam
christology is still persuasive." p. 282, The Theology of Paul the Apostle, by James D.G. Dunn
The Inconsistencies and Contradictions of the Trinity Doctrine
The Scriptures are silent. They never present God under any aspect but that of unity. Of a plurality of persons in the Godhead they know nothing.
Proofs that Christ was NOT God By Hugh Hutton Stannus 1899
A Brief Look at the "An Inclusive Version" of the New Testament
Sample translations:
"Ruler" or "Sovereign" is substituted for King (because that sounds too male).
"Kingdom" is now "Dominion"
Lord is removed(ie...1 Corinthians 6:14)
Sarah is added to John 8:58
"Father" is now "Father-Mother" John 1:18

Jesus in the FORM OF (a) GOD at Philippians 2
You have to wonder if QEOU should be taken as indefinite here, such as “form of a god”? This would highlight a parallel that is overlooked by most, the parallel between "the form of a god" and "the form of a slave."
And the word was [a] God, by Rev. Timothy Kenrick 1828

and the word was (a) God; or (a) god; or (a) divine being.
That is, the word was divine; it was of the nature of deity. It was not the God, however, for it was with “the God.” And John emphasizes this point, by saying in the next verse, the very next language, “The same was in beginning with the God.” He makes a clear distinction between him whom he here calls the God, and all other divine beings. We must remember that he was writing for an age when cultivated men believed there “were gods many and lords many” (see 1 Cor. 8:5).
And the Word was a God by Raja Ram Mohun Roy 1887
And the Word was a God. 'Was God.' Newcome. Jesus received a commission as a prophet of the Most High, and was invested with extraordinary miraculous powers. But in the Jewish phraseology they were called gods to whom the word of God came. (John 10:35.) So Moses is declared to be a god to Pharoah. (Exod. 7:1.) Some translate the passage, God was the Word, q. d. it was not so properly he that spake to men as God that spake to them by him. Cappe, ibid. See John 10: 30, compared with 17:8, 2:16, 3:34, 5:23, 12:44. Crellius conjectured that the true reading was QEW, the Word was God's, q. d. the first teacher of the gospel derived his commission from God. But this conjecture, however plausible, rests upon no authority.
