USA Today on This Day in History

This day in history: The first issue of "USA Today" was published on this day in 1982. USA Today is the most-read daily newspaper in the United States, which has a declining daily paid circulation of about 2.6 million as of 2018. It is known mostly for its complete and detailed coverage of sports, but also features regional issues ignored by major city-based newspapers. Critics have called it "McPaper", having all the nutritional value of a meal at a fast food restaurant such as McDonald's. USA Today is owned by the leftist media conglomerate Gannett Corporation.

AllSides, an American company that assesses the political bias of prominent media outlets, moved USA Today's media bias rating from Center to Lean Left following a July 2021 Editorial Review.

"The team noted a consistent omission of stories that were important to folks on the right — for example, in June and July 2021, prominent stories on the right regarding businesses struggling to hire due to covid-era unemployment benefits, the high price of gas, and rising crime and gun violence in US cities were not prominently featured. AllSides noted USA Today's top coverage had a consistent focus on social justice issues and climate change....The team found that USA Today frequently leads its stories with left-wing viewpoints, and quotes people and organizations from the left more prominently than those from the right. Quotes from people with alternative or right-wing perspectives are either omitted entirely, or included much farther down in the article. We also noted anti-Trump bias." Source

Sharyl Attkisson recently noted that USA Today still promotes false news about vaccine efficacy. Last year USA Today had to remove 23 articles after it was discovered that their reporter fabricated sources.

With all this and much more, bear in mind that USA Today is a fact check partner for Facebook.

The Guardian Newspaper on This Day in History

This day in history: The first edition of The Manchester Guardian, now The Guardian, was published on this day in 1821. The Guardian is known as a Leftist rag. The paper was described in the 1930s as "the Communist paper, The Manchester Guardian" by Lord Beaverbrook, and even earlier in Victorian times by the communist Friedrich Engels as "an organ of the middle class".

In 2016, when the UK magistrate Richard Page was dismissed from his post in the judiciary for merely saying he believed children were better off with a mother and father, The Guardian reported the case as "Magistrate sacked over religious opposition to same-sex couples adopting".

In September 2016, The Guardian reported that there had been a huge "spike" in hate-crimes against Eastern Europeans in Britain since the Brexit vote, and highlighted the death of Arkadiusz Jóźwik, who died in a late-night fight in Harlow, Essex, which they called a "suspected hate-crime". They repeated these allegations in a series of articles. But when the case eventually came to court, the verdict was that Jóźwik's death was the result of a drunken brawl, not a "hate crime attack". The source of the figures about a so-called "spike in hate-crime" was just a single police statement taking figures from a website called True Vision where anonymous reports can be made without proof.

On 14 June 2018 The Guardian published an article by Claude Moraes entitled "The far right is organised and growing. Those Nazi salutes are serious". It referred to a demonstration held on 9 June in London in protest at the imprisonment of campaigner Tommy Robinson. The only evidence the article brings of "Nazi salutes" is a photograph in which one man is holding up both arms with fingers splayed, and another behind him is holding up a placard. The article alleged that the demonstrators had been violent and aggressive and had attacked the police. This was untrue. No arrests were made at the demonstration despite the fact, reported by many who attended and shown on video coverage, that the Metropolitan police went to great lengths to try to provoke a violent incident. ALL THIS DESPITE the fact that  Tommy Robinson was demonstrating against Rape Gangs targeting white girls.

The Moonies & Their Newspaper on This Day in History

This Day in History: The Unification Church (also known as the Moonies) was founded in South Korea, by Sun Myung Moon, on this day in 1954, under the name Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity (HSA-UWC).

The "Moonies" over the years have accumulated wealth and in time established News World Communications, an international news media conglomerate which publishes The Washington Times newspaper.

The Washington Times is not the only media company backed by an Asian religious movement. The Epoch Times is affiliated with the Falun Gong new religious movement.

Now, before you ridicule the fact that these right wing news organizations are connected to these odd sects, consider that much of the rest of the mainstream media is backed by the Chinese Communist Party.

China's propaganda outlet China Daily paid millions to prominent US newspapers and magazines in the last six months to buy media influence..."A Chinese Communist Party-controlled news outlet paid major newspapers and magazines over $1.95 million between November and April to run advertisements stylized as news stories." Source

China Daily, controlled by the Chinese Communist Party, paid more than 4.6 million dollars to The Washington Post and nearly USD 6 million to The Wall Street Journal since November 2016.

Other leftist media outlets are funded by George Soros, and the mainstream media in Canada is funded and bailed out by the Liberal government.

Oh, and if you want real media bias, read the Wikipedia entries for both the Epoch Times and the Washington Times.
