This Day In History: Politician Leon Trotsky, an architect of the Communist Russian revolution was born on this day in 1879. He was eventually killed with an icepick while in exile in Mexico in 1940. Killings were always a hallmark of Socialism, especially on a grand scale. Not only did they kill tens of millions of their people, they Soviets were also responsible for the slaughter of 180,000 whales, bringing several species to the brink of extinction.
